Nutella roll

Felt like baking... been a while since I did that as well since Peanut got sick...

Then realized that I don't really have anything in my pantry to fill the bread with... then I found a bottle of nutella =3

Lucky~

apple bread

Basic sweet bread recipe, filled with cooked apples. It got a bit too dark, slightly overbaked... the temperature needs to be lowered probably. I baked this at 375F for 24 min.

I probably should also have used an egg wash... a glossy finish will probably be nicer when the color is dark like that. Also, I tried to make a glaze, but was too stingy with it; instead of pouring it on, I brushed it one, I think that resulted in an unappealing 'flaky' look.

Overall taste was good, I may also add a pinch of cinnamon to the apples next time... today I just used vanilla.

from my kitchen (mostly)

Bread again... it has been a while for me, and I realized that he has been rummaging around for snacks during the weekends

Date night sushi~ ^_^ One of my fav food, hubz doesnt really like sushi... poor him (Yeah, most of the sushi here was mine!!! I ordered enough for lunch the next day!!
Lunch from random days...

Missing days 2

Indo food, he will not pass on this while in LA no matter how far we had to drive... ^_^ We already flew a few hundred miles, whats another 40 right?

This was from Orochon Ramen, yup, the one featured on Travel channel. The place was so crowded, most likely due to the TV show...

Ramen was good, I had the shoyu, not miso (shown). I think I had something that converts to a medium spicy soup. The spicyness was perfect for me, good ramen.

Dessert at Disney downtown... don't remember the name, but Jazz something. Bread pudding was excellent~ Beignet was nice.

Missng days

Took a short trip down to LA with hubz some time last month. He needed to be there for business, and me for some time away... and of coz I miss the food =3

Again... like his Indo food, when in LA Daikokuya is a must for me =3

First meal shortly after landing, we were in a hurry to get to a business meeting, so just stopped for a quick brunch..

anticipation

Peanut is getting her cart! Hopefully we'll get to see it early next week so she can get it tested out and finally run around a little bit.

Last night's green curry, and I made enough for lunch. I don't make my own curry paste, so this is store bought. I usually use 'Mae Ploy' brand mainly out of convenience as it is the one I can find here easily. I haven't really tried other brands, but since I am happy with it, no real reason to change right?

Fast and easy dish, I stirfry the curry paste with coconut milk first until the oil separates, then add water to thin down the curry ( I don't like my green curry too thick) instead of adding more coconut milk like the instructions say. Seasoned it a bit of fish sauce, brown sugar and kechap manis (thick sweet soy sauce)... I season based on our likings, not sure if authentic green curry should taste like this... Then throw in veges and meat that I have on hand and simmer until tender. Simple right?

long absence

After a long long break, I am finally back...

It has been a long couple of weeks. Peanut, our bunny is now undergoing physical therapy... we are hoping that by continuous work at home, she will not be fully paralyzed waist down. Her cart is also in order, we may see it next week if we are lucky. I continue to learn what and how I can do things to make the days better for Peanut, her bonded companions and her humans. ^_^

Taking care of her is very time consuming, but hopefully I have got most of the routine needs down that I can get back into having fun in the kitchen again.

soup...

This weekend's bread. Dinner rolls to go with the soup. However, as you can see, the rolls were slightly overbaked.. it wasn't burnt, but the cheese and top were just too dark for my liking.

The insides... were still really soft and nice despite the dark appearance.

Pasta E Faigoli, packed for tomorrow in a new container I assumed that is made for soups... since it's a mug =3 I got these from a friend and have been wanting to use it since then.
